JitoSOL Securities Classification Report

On March 18th, the Jito Foundation published the JitoSOL Securities Classification Report – a full analysis of why JitoSOL, the native LST of the Jito Stake Pool, does not constitute a security under U.S. federal securities laws. The report provides a robust technical overview of staking on proof-of-stake blockchains, staking and delegated staking on Solana, the Jito Stake Pool, and JitoSOL.

Ecosystem Announcements

GoFundMeme

 On March 3, 2025 GoFundMeme, a memecoin launchpad, announced their JitoSOL integration. The integration allows LPs to earn staking, MEV & LP rewards from having JitoSOL as a base asset. 

Momentum Growth Stage DeFi Accelerator

The Jito Foundation is sponsoring the Momentum Growth Stage DeFi Accelerator presented by Drift Protocol and the Solana Foundation. The program, to be hosted in mid-April, will run for 5 weeks and feature 5-7 growth-stage DeFi projects.

SPICE Incentives

In collaboration with Lowlife Forms, Spice, Orca and Kamino, SPICE-JitoSOL Vault depositors are eligible for additional rewards during the first month. Starting March 20th, depositors have been able to get a share of 4k JTO, 14M SPICE, and 3.2k ORCA. 

SEOULANA Hackathon

The Jito Foundation is proud to sponsor the first-ever Superteam Korea-led SEOULANA Hackathon NCN track alongside Fragmetric. The hackathon will take place from April 4-6, 2025 in Seoul and will feature 6 different tracks + $97k in total prizes ($7k for the NCN Track).

USDG Incentives

New incentives dropped on Kamino to celebrate the launch of USDG, a 1:1 USD-backed stablecoin from Global Dollar Network, with reserve reports issued monthly via Paxos. During the campaign, USDG-JitoSOL Vault depositors and those borrowing USDG with JitoSOL will be eligible for these incentives. Vault deposits will earn a share of 2k JTO per month while borrowers will earn a share of 7k JTO and 30k USDG in rewards per month.

Governance

JIP-14

On March 4, 2025 JIP-14: Reaffirmation of the Security Council for a 12-Month Term was put up for a vote on Realms. The proposal passed with 12,784,473 Yes and 0 No votes, reaffirming the current Security Council members for another year.

JIP-15

After being put up for community discussion on the Jito Forum on March 4th, JIP-15 moved to a DAO vote on March 24th where the community came out in support of the proposal, with 12,058,636 Yes and 0 No votes. JIP-16

On March 4, 2025, JIP-16: TipRouter and StakeNet Adjustments for Priority Fees was introduced to the community. The proposal adds support for distributing Solana Priority Fees and filters validators by their fee commission. The changes aim to align stake delegation with transparent fee-sharing and improve JitoSOL yield.
