Introducing Jito Points: Powering the Jito Ecosystem

Overview

We are thrilled to announce that Jito Points are now live! You can start earning points immediately by visiting the Jito staking page. Jito Points are designed to quantify and reward your contributions to the ever-growing JitoSOL ecosystem.

You can earn points through holding JitoSOL, participating in DeFi activities, making referrals, and more. The math is simple, transparent, and designed to benefit everyone from long-term holders to active DeFi users.

How to Earn Points

Holding JitoSOL

For those of you holding onto JitoSOL, your faith in the ecosystem will be rewarded. Every JitoSOL in your wallet accumulates 1 point per day. The points will be calculated based on a snapshot of your JitoSOL holdings, starting from Jan 1, 2023.

For example, holding 100 JitoSOL will earn you 100 points each day, and the longer you hold, the more you accumulate.

DeFi Activities with JitoSOL

If you're an active participant in the DeFi world, your engagement will also earn you extra points. Liquidity Providers (LPs) can expect to earn 2 points per JitoSOL in DeFi per day. For those lending or borrowing your JitoSOL you will collect 1.5 points per JitoSOL per day.

So if you have 100 JitoSOL-equivalent TVL staked in a DeFi pool like Orca or Raydium, you’re looking at 200 points daily. With margin products, the same notional amount will give you 150 points.

We are only tracking DeFi platforms with an aggregate TVL that is greater than a minimum threshold that ensures meaningful liquidity on the platform. As such we are currently tracking:

• Orca
• Raydium
• Kamino
• Marginfi
• Meteora
• Drift

For example, if your referee earns 100 points, you get 10 points.

Getting Started

If you are new to JitoSOL, the best way to start earning points is by initially minting JitoSOL at https://www.jito.network/staking/. To further enhance your point earnings, consider adding liquidity through one of the supported decentralized exchanges for a 2x points boost. Additionally, by depositing your JitoSOL into marginfi, you can earn 1.5x JitoSOL points as well as marginfi points!
